Message from Division A Governor - Thanks & Gratitude

Dear members of Division A,

Last night together with Area A4 Gov Ng Chee Hau and President J. Kannan, we submitted the new Club Charter Application Form for JB Tamil Toastmasters Club, the ever first Tamil Club in Southern Malaysia. Our motto is “Never give up” “WE CAN DO IT AND WE MUST DO IT”. What a GREAT way to end our term for 2009/2010.

Upon the successful chartering of this Club, Area A4 will be a President’s Distinguished Area! Congratulations to Area A4 Gov Chee Hau and the Charter President J. Kannan.

It has been an eventful and memorable term for me as your Division A Governor. The success and honor as a President’s Distinguished Division belong to each and every member of Division A. We worked as a TEAM. We have become better people through our working together and overcoming the challenges together. This is the Power of WE.

As of now and pending updates from TI, our Division has achieved the following amongst other things:-

• A growth from 16 Clubs to 19 Clubs; new clubs -Politeknik Merlimau Toastmasters Club, GP Toastmasters Club, JB Tamil Toastmasters Club
• 6 Clubs achieved President’s Distinguished Club status
• 3 Clubs achieved Select Distinguished Club status
• 2 Clubs achieved Distinguished Club status

I wish to accord my heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the following:-

Area Governors Azizah, P. Andy, KC Yip and Chee Hau, for your commitment in holding the fort in your respective Areas, your efforts and contributions to all the members in your Areas.

Asst DvGov-Education & Training, Mohd Awee for your tireless efforts and invaluable contributions in conducting workshops and travelling to the various Clubs to assist and encourage the members.

Asst DvGov-Marketing, Ong Hong Siong, DvPRO Eng Suan, Division Secretary, Diana Gomez and Division Treasurer, Bin Yuen for your contributions to the success of our Division and assisting me in so many ways despite your other commitments.

Immediate Past Dv Gov, Bernard Wong and his team, Jason Kum, Mohd Awee, Ong Hong Siong, Liza Alip, Tan Eng Suan and Mohd Dzuhairy and others for their involvement in the IRDA project. To me it was a success because we could share the benefits of Toastmasters to so many individuals. We had empowered at least 172 individuals to realize their dreams and find the courage to change.

To all Club Presidents and their Executive Committee Members, thank you for all your hard work and sacrifices you had displayed in order to achieve your Club’s goals.

To each and every member of Division A, thank you for support and your commitment to grow and achieve. Without your commitment and effort to pursue your educational and leadership programs, Division A will not succeed. You had made possible the victory of our Division.

THANK YOU!

The Toastmasters organization has brought to many - Competence, Confidence and Character.

The mountain of learning has no peak.

Climbing it is its own reward.

Let us all continue to learn as we serve and help each other. Learning is a treasure that does not leave you.

Dear Division Council Members, Club Presidents and all Toastmasters of Division A,

I am very pleased to announce that Division A has achieved President's Distinguished Status!!

Wow, third time in a row!

This is the Power of WE.

I wish to accord my sincere thanks to all members of Division A who have worked alongside with me towards this achievement.

Teamwork is birthed when you concentrate on "we" instead of "me". All players have a place where they add the most value.

Thank you so much and TOGETHER we will keep Division A's flag flying higher and higher.

Message from Division A Governor - Happy New Year!!

Dear Fellow Toastmasters of Division A,

Happy New Year!!!

I wish one and all A Meaningful and Fruitful 2010.

As we take a backward look at 2009 and a forward look to 2010, I believe we have cause to rejoice. We rejoice for the family we have, for the good health we have, for the friends we have, for the co-workers with whom we had worked together, for the things we could do and for the things we had attempted to do and the list goes on.

Six months had just gone by since we took office for the term 2009/2010.We have another six months to lead and serve the Clubs in our Division.Let us be committed to our goals and have the courage to rise to the occasion and the perseverance to keep doing the job till it gets done.

Our core values as Toastmasters are Integrity, Respect for the Individual, Dedication to Excellence and Service to the Member. Let us consistently incorporate these values as anchor points in our planning and vision for our Clubs and in every decision we make.

As we enter into the brand new year, let us reengineer and reinvent ourselves and learn to make ‘paradigm shift’ in our perceptions and attitudes.
