District 51 Semi Annual Convention Ipoh 2013
Farhana, TM - Johor Jaya Toastmasters Club
To me as a first timer, there are countless precious experience that I got from the convention - experience that I can't find anywhere other than Toastmasters. Being in The Award Team has taught me a lot on the real meaning of leadership, responsibility and teamwork.
Convention is a very good event where we can expand our network with other members in Toastmasters around the district, sspecially for the new member like me. Hopefully the next convention will be filled with more fun and happening sessions to bond closer among members.
QJ Tan, CC - Johor Jaya Toastmasters Club
The 2013 Ipoh Semi Annual Convention has proven itself to be I.P.O.H. Impressive Portrayal Of Hospitality. The organizing team had zeroed the barrier between the northerners and us, from the south. Although Ipoh is known to have great food, it wouldn't have tasted better without the great smiles from the team! Surely it is a convention to be fondly remembered.
Genny Ong, CC - Malacca Toastmasters Club
The convention was a euphoric experience for most Toastmasters from District 51 who attended it. Coming from Division A, it was exhilarating to meet fellow Toastmasters from different Division and forge new friendships and camaderie while serving and taking up some roles in the convention.
The climax of the convention is the Contest Day itself. It really heightens and motivates fellow Toastmasters to participate in contest as displayed by the enthusiasm and courage of contestants on that day. But the most jubilant moment was to witness Division A finally clinched the Champion trophy after some years.
At the end of convention, I am proud of Toastmasters from Division A for being committed to come in a bus load to support our contestant and also help out in the convention. I just can't help smiling to see a bus load of jubilant Division A Toastmaster with a sense of triumphant heading back south on departure day.
