The President of UTM ACES Toastmasters Club,Yong Bang Xiang was the test speaker for the Evaluation Contest of UTM Toastmasters Club.

The best thing about contests season for me is... other than champions are made.. is the cooperation between clubs to help each other. It is sooooo swweeeeett....!!! People call it as Toastmaster-ship, I see it as friendship :)

For example, UTM ACES Toastmasters Club, JB Toastmasters Club, JB City Toastmasters Club, & Johor Jaya Toastmasters club members during UTM Toastmasters Club contests.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ladies and gentlemen, we are counting days for two more areas. Area A1 & Area A2.
Let us support the teams and the contestants!
And then.... where all of the winners for all four areas will meet, Division A Contests!
See you there and let make this contest season our best experience!
JB Can Talk - 6th Sept & 20th Sept 2014
During the JB Art Festival, Toastmasters in Division A has two sessions. The first session on 6th of September was held and I was so happy to be there!
 There were 4 interesting games. Other than Table Topics session like Toastmasters usually have during our clubs chapter meetings, we have 3 more games to add some more fun while speaking in public, in DATARAN BANDARAYA JOHOR BAHRU!
Making impromptu conversation. One sentence for each person. But, not a statement, it must be always a question! Challenging and fun!
The other team, acting as a Malay mother with an Indian son and a Chinese daughter. Here is part of the conversation by this team.
"Where is your father?"
"Why you don't know where is our father?"
"Do you have our father's picture?"
"What is picture?"
Hahahaha.....
Yeah, it was funny!
 The other team with situation ; in a mental hospital. From left, the patient, the doctor, the sexy nurse (OMG!) and the patient who was only care about his painting...
Some of the guests were enjoying the session and also participating!
Ops..!! Now we know that during JB Can Talk, our photographer also went sightseeing...!!! He was attracted to a group of ladies in beautiful costumes! They were preparing for their dance performance. It is JB Art Festival! (http://jbartsfest.com)
Hurm, who was the naughty photographer?
Tadaaaaa....!!!! The photographer was our Immediate Past Division A Governor, DTM Go Hwi Kueh! Mr. Go, thank you the photos! :)
Don't forget to support and enlighten the next session of JB Can Talk on 20th!!! Come and join us!
Toastmasters International Convention 2014 was held in MALAYSIA!!!!!
For the first time in Toastmasters’ history, the organization held its International Convention outside North America. The 2014 convention took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 20th to 23rd of August 2014.
The main highlight of the convention, of course, the World Championship of Public Speaking 2014!
How big and prestige the stage was? See this.
"Leaders Take The Stairs" by Rory Vaden, two-time WCPS Finalist, motivational speaker and humorist, during Toastmasters International Convention 2014 — at Plenary Hall KL Convention Centre.
And here is the list of finalists at the World Championship of Public Speaking 2014 ; 1. James L. Feffley, 2. Kelly Sargeant, 3. Kwong Yue Yang, 4. Marc Williams, 5. Alain Washnevsky, 6. Eric Donaldson, 7. Dananjaya Hettiarachchi, 8. Sharookh Daroowala, 9. Chris W.H. Wo
And the champion is......
The selection of this Southeast Asian city reflects the global nature of Toastmasters International as well as its evolving membership. More than 30 percent of all Toastmasters now live outside North America, and the greatest membership growth is in Southeast Asia.
“After considering many other sites, it became clear that Kuala Lumpur offered the most benefits to our members and the organization as a whole,” says Toastmasters International Executive Director Daniel Rex. “As a global organization, having as many people as possible attend the convention is always our goal.”
Toastmasters from Division A were having fun!!!
Would like to share your personal experience during the convention? Email me, your blog master, at tmd51diva@gmail.com a short write up and photos. Show to us how proud you are after attending the Toastmasters International Convention 2014.
